Ticket-based games for kids are as unpredictable as slot machines in casinos. In casinos, we know the outcome doesn't depend on how we pull the lever or press the button; it's predetermined.
Children seem to enjoy the game. They need to do "something" and have fun. For them, the tickets are less important than the enjoyment.
So why do adults play slots?
Is the anticipation of hitting the jackpot even a game? Or is it just a way for them to express their hope that "luck" will come through for them?
Relying on luck diminishes their joy.
Children would still play even if there were a sign that said, "This machine is out of tickets." Why? Because they love to play. The only reason they wouldn't play is if their parents said no because of the sign.
So, what is the difference between kids and adults? Many adults seem to have forgotten the pleasure of playing. I say "seem" because they haven't entirely forgotten. However, you can observe how they talk or play with their children: they converse with them as adults, or they don't get down to the floor to play at the same level.
"If it doesn't pay, it isn't worth it."
What a terrible motto.
You can tell when an adult is genuinely playing because their smile shows that they don't really care about the outcome. One way or another, they will get what they want.
Why do so many people admire Jeff Bezos' smile? Why are there so few people smiling and so many YouTube viewers seriously watching Bezos, Musk, Robbins, Gates, and others?
It is often said that there are too many followers and too few leaders because people are afraid to make decisions. This may be true, but it's an even more significant truth that very few adults smile on a daily basis.
Don't rely on luck. Rely on your smile. Bring the inner child into the game. Let them take control.
If you feel like practicing smiling, I would love to help.
